Major and career goals
Choice of Major and Minor
The formative years of my upbringing inside the Baniya community, known for its exceptional commercial acumen and astute financial practices, have significantly shaped my decisions on schooling. The personal experiences of encountering preconceptions and overcoming hurdles, and the influence derived from my father's entrepreneurial pursuits, have guided my decision to pursue a degree in Economics and Business. This decision is congruent with my innate fascination in financial affairs and my community's established proficiency in commerce and bargaining. The inclination towards economics and business courses throughout my high school years was not just driven by academic inclination, but rather an extension of my cultural identity and familial legacy. The selection of my major was motivated by both a desire to pay homage to my cultural heritage and a recognition of the importance of acquiring the information and skills essential for effectively engaging with and making meaningful contributions to the dynamic global economy.
Career Goals and Their Significance
My professional ambitions are intricately connected to my own background and personal encounters. Motivated by my early exposure to my father's business endeavors, I am compelled to delve into the domains of International Management and Business Planning. My academic pursuits at Indiana University Bloomington have been focused on broadening my knowledge in the areas of Sustainable Business Strategy, Non-Market Risks, and Organizational Behaviour. This has been facilitated via my engagement with esteemed lecturers such as Steven Kreft and Carolyn Goerner. I am particularly enthusiastic about the prospects of exploring the realms of international business and risk assessment inside the Grant Thornton Institute. Enrolling in the Emerging Markets Club is in accordance with my objective to enhance my cultural understanding and be up-to-date with global current affairs. The aforementioned goals hold significance for me as they encompass not just a professional trajectory but also a transformative process of individual development, fortitude, and a dedication to preserve the principles instilled in me by my familial and communal surroundings. The objective of this endeavor is to integrate the conventional business knowledge of the Baniya community with contemporary management approaches, therefore making a creative contribution to the worldwide business environment.
